Lagniappe Caravan was started by three Hurricane Katrina Survivors and a few Good Samaritans. Lagniappe Caravan was formed in an effort to help other Hurricane Katrina Survivors to relocate, rebuild and/or reunite with family and friends.

Our Vision:

Is to provide survivors and their families with opportunities to relocate and/or reunite with family.

Our Mission:

Is to raise enough money through fundraisers, and donations to be able to provide survivors with transportation, food, and board on the trip back.

Lagniappe Caravan will be departing from Seattle at:

9:00 am Feburary 13, 2007

and will return on

Feburary 27, 2007

Upon arriving in New Orleans temparary housing will be provided by Malik Rahim and Sharon Johnson of Common Ground Collective.

Once we have settled into our accomodations Lagniappe Caravan, and Common Ground will assist anyone wanting to remain in New Orleans with information on permanent housing, and employment.

We have volunteers who will be spending time in New Orleans over the next few months to round up information for anyone who wishes to remain in New Orleans.
